ACACIA HOTEL KISUMU
A new luxury and business international 4 star hotel is due to open in the lakeside city of Kisumu. Being the first ever 4 star in Western Kenya, Acacia Hotel is expected to fill the current gap in luxury and business hotel accommodation, raise the region’s hospitality benchmark and attract more tourists to visit Kenya through their stay in the new landmark property.
Located ideally within the prime leafy suburb of Milimani estate, adjacent to central bank of Kenya and adjoined by the Uchumi supermarket within the new West End mall, the hotel has easy and relaxing view of the calm Lake Victoria and Kisumu international airport. It combines security and convenience, beautiful architecture, a spacious set up and peaceful environment for leisure and business travelers. Its unrivaled comfort in 94 beautifully appointed rooms, 3 spa rooms, a coffee shop, various restaurants, conference facilities, swimming pool on its 3rd floor and gym fill long existing market gaps.

This is a great achievement for Kisumu.Am sure that once it opens up more will come up.
Having worked for long in one of the best hotels in Kisumu my hope was for a 4 or 5 star to open and fill up the luxury and business market.
I am looking forward to its grand opening

    This is very good news.
My only prayer is for a hotel of such high caliber, professionals will be employed, people who know the ABC`s of customer service and basic hotel etiquette but looking at how they want to get staff on board, this is just another one of these overrated Kisumu hotels with their rude staff in the making.
Hotels in this part of Kenya should borrow a leaf or two from their counterpart Imperial hotel.

Looks good. The reception almost looks like an artiste’s impression though. However, I hope
the expansion of the hospitality industry will also boost growth in the agricultural sector. I also hope they hire qualified staff. Local farmers must take advantage of this and grow food crops that can sustain these hotels instead of ‘importing’ food from other counties. A paradigm shift is also necessary in livestock rearing. There is obviously going to be an increase in the demand for dairy products in these hotels. It’s high time people started rearing dairy cows instead of those tick invested long horns that cannot even produce a glass of milk per day. Dairy cows are more rewarding economically.
